The cottage is situated on a very minor
road in the village of St.Germain-sur-Vienne
(La Chaussée), approximately 10 km
west of the picturesque "Cité Médiéval" of Chinon
- it serves as an ideal base for touring the area (which is
excellent for sightseeing/walking/cycling/wine-tasting) or just
relaxing!

Brief description of our property and its setting...

The
location of the cottage is quiet whilst not being isolated. The
cottage used to be an old "fermette" which has been
renovated and modernised over the years. It has a fenced and
gated garden to the front and to the side of the property which
provides off-road parking as well as an enclosed area for
sitting out in, barbecuing and for children to play in.
All rooms (except shower-room areas) have exposed beams and the
kitchen has a Touraine-style fireplace.

The accommodation (which is all at ground floor level) is spacious
and comprises:
KITCHEN/DINER/LIVING-ROOM - Size: 19'x 16.5'. It has a
sink unit, electric cooker, fridge and is practically equipped
with basic cooking equipment, etc. Cutlery and crockery are
provided. It has a large dining-table, dining-chairs and easy
chairs.
DOUBLE BEDROOM - Size: 11.5'x 12.25' with double bed, double wardrobe
and a chest of drawers.
TWIN-BEDDED ROOM - Size: 10.5'x 14.5' with two single beds (3'),
a double wardrobe and washbasin.
SINGLE BEDROOM - Size: 7'x 12' with a single bed (2'6"), a
chest of drawers and a washbasin.
SHOWER ROOM: Shower, wash-basin and bidet.
TOILET: Toilet and hand basin.
Blankets and pillows (English-style) are provided but you
must provide your own sheets and pillow cases.
We have a lady who comes in to clean the cottage after the
departure of guests but we obviously appreciate it if guests can
leave the cottage as clean and tidy as possible.
(Please also note that for safety reasons we do discourage
smoking in the house.)
We do have some garden furniture (i.e. table and chairs) and
there is a barbecue area in the garden.
